Pyrysys Psychology Group, Inc. was also founded by Tom Horvath, Ph.D. and provides outpatient rehab as well as mental health services for Practical Recovery.

Many addiction treatment systems offer structured group outpatient care, rather than individualized treatment. Structured group care typically does not deeply address underlying issues often essential to addiction recovery, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, or eating disorder, etc. Pyrysys Psychology Group has a staff of psychologists and other mental health professionals.

Pyrysys is not only staffed by alcohol and drug rehab counselors, but also by professionals with a wide variety of mental health expertise. Therefore, Pyrysys is able to help you address all of your emotional or behavioral concerns. To function as it does, Pyrysys is separately incorporated as a professional psychology corporation (California Psychology License PSY7732).

What’s with that name, Pyrysys (pronounced “peer-a-sis”)? We first called ourselves Practical Recovery Services (PRS), and later shortened the name to Practical Recovery. We created the name Pyrysys by adding some letters to PRS. We also use the abbreviation for Pyrysys Psychology Group, PPG. We use the name Pyrysys to protect the confidentiality of our clients. Most clients feel more comfortable entering an office suite labeled Pyrysys, rather than one labeled Practical Recovery.
